The automotive landscape is changing. Over the next few years, there will be a huge transition to hybrid and fully electric vehicles as automakers make the switch – some completely – to battery power. Buyers will soon be able to buy an EV in virtually any segment, even supercars and hypercars.
But it's not all doom and gloom for gas lovers. Brands like Aston Martin, Chevy, and Lamborghini plan to keep the gas engine alive for at least a little bit longer with sporty new offerings on the horizon. With that, we've put together a list of 50 cars, trucks, and SUVs that should be on the market by the end of 2026 – gas, hybrid, and electric alike.

Cars
Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio EV
Release Date: 2025
Alfa Romeo is one of many brands making the move to battery power in the form of both plug-in hybrids and full EVs. Its iconic Giulia sedan will make the switch from gas to electrons sometime in the near future with rumors hinting at upwards of 1,000 horsepower from the electric Giulia with the possibility for more body styles – like a wagon variant – joining the range down the line.
Alfa Romeo Supercar
Release Date: 2023
Another upcoming Alfa is the rumored sports car or supercar – although this one should arrive before the electric Giulia, and potentially with gas power alone. Early rumors suggested that the proposed Alfa sports car would use some form of plug-in-hybrid power, but the latest reports hint that this could be the brand’s last "old-school" coupe. We know it will have retro design cues (like our rendering pictured here) and should arrive before the end of the year.
Aston Martin Valhalla
Release Date: 2024
The mid-engined Valhalla will be the next supercar in the Aston Martin lineup. Expected early in 2024, the Aston Martin Valhalla will reportedly have a flat-plane-crank V8 engine and could have north of 900 hp with an expected 0-60 time of around three seconds flat.
Audi A6 E-Tron
Release Date: 2024
We’ve already seen the Audi A6 E-Tron in concept form (the image pictured here), but the production version should debut sometime later next year before going on sale. With Audi's scalable Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture underneath, the A6 E-Tron will have 800-volt charging capabilities and offer up to 400 miles of range. The most powerful version could also pack 469 hp via two electric motors.
Bentley EV
Release Date: 2026
The future of Bentley is electric as the company commits to a full battery-powered lineup from 2026 on. The first of its EVs doesn’t come with many details, but we can at least look to the EXP 100 GT concept from 2019 for design inspiration.
BMW M2 CS
Release Date: 2025
The 453-hp M2 is already a firecracker as it is, but BMW plans to push the envelope even further with the upcoming M2 CS. Expected to arrive in 2025, the BMW M2 CS could have more than 500 hp with an upgraded version of the eight-speed automatic found on the current car. Sorry, no manual is planned.
BMW Neue Klasse EV
Release Date: 2025
With fresh architecture, BMW’s Neue Klasse (or New Class) of EVs will help breed a different brand of electric vehicle for the automaker beginning in 2025. The rendering here takes cues from the i Vision D concept unveiled earlier this year, but the production version shouldn’t be too far off. Expect the BMW Neue Klasse to have an improved range and even better tech than the current crop of BMW EVs. We should have even more details later this year.
Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 / Zora
Release Date: 2025
If you thought the new Corvette Z06 packed a punch, wait until the new ZR1 (or Zora) arrives. Reported to have a flat-plane-crank twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 engine under the hood, the ZR1 could have more than 850 hp, a 0-60 time of just 2.5 seconds, and the same eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox found on the current Z06. It should show up in 2025 before going on sale early in 2026.
Dodge Charger Daytona SRT EV
Release Date: 2024
Rest in peace to the current Dodge lineup as we know it. Soon, the Charger Daytona SRT EV will live on in the places of the current Charger and Challenger. We’ve already seen it in prototype form, but when it debuts officially next year, the Daytona SRT EV will have up to 600 hp and an 800-volt electrical architecture underneath that should give it around 500 miles of range.
Ferrari Hypercar
Release Date: 2025
Ferrari’s next great hypercar should arrive in 2025 as a spiritual successor to the beloved LaFerrari. We’ve already seen a number of camouflaged prototypes previewing the wild-looking hypercar’s dramatic design, which includes an S-duct hood and a massive rear wing. But we won’t see this Ferrari in its final form until 2025. Rumors have it that the new Ferrari halo car could even drop its V12 in place of a twin-turbo V8.
Ferrari SF90 Versione Speciale
Release Date: 2023
The Ferrari SF90 is already a 1,000-hp, 211-mph hypercar in its own right. But soon an even more powerful, more capable version of the SF90 will arrive in the form of the Versione Speciale. It will use the same twin-turbo V8 and electric motor setup as the base SF90, but with more power. Expect it to arrive sometime this year.
Genesis X
Release Date: TBD
There’s still no official timeline on when we might see the absurdly pretty Genesis X sports car reach production. But hey, the company has at least confirmed it’s happening. Early reports suggest the sports car will be fully electric and cost at least $200,000.
Hyundai N Vision 74
Release Date: TBD
Will they or won’t they? The ongoing saga with the Hyundai N Vision 74 continues, but there’s a strong indication that the sports car could happen. Following the concept’s debut in 2022, reports hinted at a possible limited production run. But then Hyundai dismissed those theories. Then again recently, rumors indicated that the N Vision 74 would indeed be heading to production – but it’s still unclear how true that might be.
Lamborghini Revuelto SVJ
Release Date: TBD
Even though the Lamborghini Revuelto just debuted, there are already rumors swirling of a hotter SVJ variant. This rendering previews what the potentially more powerful Revuelto could look like, with even more power packed under that pretty hood. The SVJ should use the same hybrid V12 powertrain as the standard Revuelto, albeit with more power.
Lexus LFA EV
Release Date: 2026
It’s actually unclear if the LFA name will return, but we know that Lexus has a new electric sports car inspired by the iconic LFA in the works. The concept pictured here is the lovely Electrified Sport that debuted in 2021 and, unsurprisingly, it will act as the basis for a new Lexus electric sports car. Early reports indicate that it could have a 0-60 time of around two seconds and even a manual gearbox.
Lotus Envya
Release Date: 2023
The Eletre SUV marked Lotus’ first move into mainstream products – even though it costs about $85,000. The Envya sedan will be the next Lotus with mass appeal when it arrives later this year. And like the larger Eletre and every Lotus product from here on out, it too will be electric.
Mercedes-AMG GT
Release Date: 2023
The new Mercedes-Benz AMG GT will debut later this year. It won’t be fully electric (yet) with Mercedes maintaining the V8 powertrain for now, with a mild-hybrid high-performance option possible, but it will look a lot like the previous AMG GT as spy photos have shown. And this new GT will be available in two flavors at launch: 43 and 53.
Mercedes-Benz EQA Sedan
Release Date: 2024
The Mercedes lineup is undergoing an evolution that will soon see every gas car switch to battery power, including some of the company’s smallest offerings. The Mercedes EQA sedan (not the already on-sale SUV) should arrive in 2024 as the entry-level EV for the brand. Using the gas-powered CLA and A-Class models as inspiration, the EQA should have sleek four-door coupe styling and at least 200 hp on tap.
Polestar 5
Release Date: 2024
The Polestar 5 will act as the automaker’s flagship vehicle when it arrives in 2024. The Swedish EV will compete with the likes of the Porsche Taycan and Audi E-Tron with up to 884 hp in the most powerful trim, and 800-volt capability, meaning it should be able to achieve an 80-percent charge in just 20 minutes using a DC fast charger. But the Polestar 5 could also cost as much as $90,000 to start.
Polestar O2 Convertible
Release Date: 2025
The Polestar 5 sedan will act as the flagship for the brand for at least a year before the stylish O2 Convertible sports car arrives in 2025. It will make its way to production as the Polestar 6 and will have over 800 hp. It will also be Polestar’s first roadster and should be one of the few all-electric droptops on the market.
Porsche Electric Hypercar
Release Date: TBD
Porsche promises to build a new hypercar a la the 918 Spyder and Carrera GT. But when will that vehicle arrive? That’s still unknown; CEO Oliver Blume said that a hypercar is "always a part of Porsche’s strategy" but hasn’t committed to a timeline. But if the recent Mission X concept is any indication, a production version shouldn’t be too far off. The production Mission X (or whatever it might be called) will be all-electric and Porsche plans for it to become the fastest production car ever around the Nurburgring.
Porsche 718 Boxster / Cayman EV
Release Date: 2025
The Boxster and Cayman are both going electric by early next year. Porsche’s iconic sports cars will ditch their gas engines for the versatile Volkswagen Group PPE EV platform instead. Porsche hopes to keep the curb weight of both of these cars down, with at least 450 hp in base form with more power available on higher trims to follow.
Tesla Hatchback
Release Date: TBD
Plenty of people talk about the Tesla Cybertruck and the Tesla Roadster, two long-awaited vehicles that will hopefully show up sometime in the next few years. But not much has been made about the rumored Tesla hatchback, which could be a $25,000 EV. Rumors indicate that the company is currently testing the small car in markets like China, but there’s still no scheduled debut date.
Tesla Roadster
Release Date: 2024
There could be a light at the end of the tunnel for the long-awaited Tesla Roadster. Reports indicate that, with production of the Cybertruck kicking off in earnest this year, the company could begin work on the Roadster sometime in 2024. Hopefully a production version of the supercar shows up sometime early in 2024 before going on sale later next year.
Toyota GR Electric Sports Car
Release Date: 2026
Toyota is hard at work on an electric sports car that will bear GR branding. But this will be no normal electric sports car. The company says it will have "engine noises" and even a simulated manual gearbox – similar to the upcoming Lexus sports car. The new performance car should arrive sometime in 2026.
Toyota GR Prius
We've already seen the GR Prius in concept form, so logic tells us that a production version could be a real possibility. The GR Prius concept features an aggressive front fascia with a bigger grille, upgraded aerodynamics, a new wheel and tire combo, and possibly more power – but of course, Toyota doesn’t have any official specs for the concept.
A Glimpse Into The Future:
SUVs
Acura ZDX
Release Date: 2024
Acura’s first all-electric SUV will be the ZDX, and although we’ve already seen a preview of what it could look like with the Precision EV concept, the full production version should show up next year. We know that it will have sharp design cues and more than 300 miles of range, plus Acura recently announced a new Google-based infotainment system.
Cadillac Escalade IQ
Release Date: 2023
The Lyriq won’t be the only electric SUV in Cadillac’s lineup. The Escalade is also going electric with the upcoming Escalade IQ. The large EV will use GM's Ultium EV platform, but no specifics like range, horsepower, or price are available at this time. The Escalade IQ will debut officially at the end of this year.
Chevrolet Equinox / EV
Release Date: 2023
The new Chevy Equinox will be available in both gas and electric flavors when the new version debuts later this year. The gas version will feature a rugged redesign with a bold front end and aggressive lightning cues, while we’ve already seen the Equinox EV in concept form.
Faraday Future FF91
Release Date: 2023
Faraday Future recently announced the limited edition FF 91 2.0 Futurist Alliance was available to order with deliveries expected to begin this summer. Limited to just 300 units globally, the Futurist Alliance includes specific paint and wheel options and a feature the company says is a "one-on-one bespoke private AI and special tuning."
Fisker Ocean
Release Date: 2023
The Ocean, Fisker’s first car since the Karma, will start arriving in the US on June 19 after deliveries started in Europe last month. With an EPA-estimated 360-mile range, the Fisker Ocean One and Extreme will likely be the first trim levels to arrive and will be followed by the 340-mile Fisker Ocean Ultra and the base Fisker Ocean Sport, which has an estimated range of 250 miles.
Fisker Pear
Release Date: TBD
If the Fisker Ocean is successful, it will likely be followed by the Fisker Pear, a unique vehicle that looks like a reimagined Fiat Multipla. According to Henrik Fisker, it’s neither a crossover nor a hatchback but a new body style with a unique trunk lid that can be opened in tight spaces. No official release date is set, but should the Pear make it to production, it will likely be released in Europe first.
Genesis GV90
Release Date: 2024
Due out in 2024, the Hyundai GV90, like the Ioniq 7, and EV9 will use the biggest version of the E-GMP platform, to produce a large three-row electric SUV. Using the E-GMP platform means it will have a flat floor thanks to the dedicated electric architecture. No specs have been provided yet, but it’s a good bet the GV90 will feature dual motors and all-wheel drive.
Honda Prologue
Release Date: 2024
The 2024 Honda Prologue is an electric crossover based on GM’s Ultium platform and shares the American automaker’s proprietary battery technology. Similar to the upcoming Blazer EV, Honda executives are adamant that the Prologue will “still feel like a Honda in many of the ways that consumers will care about the most.”
Hyundai Ioniq 5 N
Release Date: 2023
Utilizing Hyundai’s next-generation battery technology, the Ioniq 5 N will have slightly less range than the current AWD model but offer 600 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. The price and performance will be on par with or slightly higher than the current Kia EV6 GT.
Hyundai Ioniq 7
Release Date: 2024
Similar to the Genesis GV90 and Kia EV9, the Ioniq 7 will be Hyundai's version of the three-row E-GMP platform. Like most of Hyundai's other EVs, the Ioniq 7 will look similar to the SUV concept that debuted late last year and should have over 300 miles of range.
Jeep Recon
Release Date: 2024
Jeep is quick to play up the Recon’s heritage, connecting it to the Wrangler in terms of features and off-road capability. It includes removable doors, a removable top, and offers rail-rated capability with Jeep Selec-Terrain traction management, e-locker axle tech, and beefy off-road tires. No details have been released regarding the Recon’s range or performance, but we do know it will be built on the Stellantis STLA large platform.
Lincoln Star EV
Release Date: 2024
The lovely looking Star concept from 2022 previews what will eventually become a fully electric SUV in the Lincoln range. Assuming it borrows cues from the vehicle pictured here, the production version should be a sleek and stylish upscale SUV with a starting price of around $75,000.
Lucid Gravity
Release Date: 2024
The Lucid Gravity has been spotted out testing recently which is a good sign that it is getting close to production. Like the Lucid Air, it should have impressive performance and range but as a large SUV with a spacious cabin and three rows of seating for seven passengers. Reservations are scheduled to open this year, but the Lucid Gravity won’t hit the road officially until 2024.
Mercedes-Benz EQG
Release Date: 2024
Think "electric G-Wagen" and you basically nail the premise of the Mercedes-Benz EQG. While it may look like an old-school SUV, it promises to offer phenomenal performance and be the first EV to use silicon-based anodes to significantly increase range and reduce battery charging times. The EQG has been spotted on the roads in Germany and the SUV is expected to go on sale in 2024.
Mini Countryman
Release Date: 2023
A new Mini Countryman small crossover will follow the recently refreshed Cooper, and this new Countryman won’t be "mini." The SUV will reportedly grow 5.1 inches longer and 2.4 inches taller, using BMW Group’s FAAR platform, which also underpins the electric BMW iX1. Mini hasn’t confirmed when the new Countryman will debut, but a late 2023 release wouldn’t be out of the realm of possibility.
Porsche Macan EV
Release Date: 2024
The Porsche Macan small SUV is going electric – finally. The Macan EV will have a 100.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack with as much as 603 hp and more than 738 lb-ft in the most powerful spec. We’ve already prototypes on the road so a full debut won’t be far off; expect the electric Macan by early next year.
Rivian R2
Release Date: 2025
Rivian only recently teased its new R2 crossover. Expected to be smaller and more affordable than the current R1S, the R2 will shrink to nearly Porsche Macan size and will likely maintain Rivian’s signature dual-motor setup with somewhere in the neighborhood of 600 hp. It will still be quite a while before we see the new SUV, though. Expect a release date of 2025.
Scout Electric SUV
Scout is back and the newly reborn automaker has plans for two brand-new vehicles. The first will be an SUV with production scheduled to kick off at Scout’s US facility beginning in 2025, and a pickup will arrive the following year. The SUV should have full-on rugged cues a la the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler, but with a fully electric powertrain underneath.

Canoo Electric Pickup
Release Date: 2024
Canoo has some really cute EVs in the works. This pickup – or ute, really – has been around in concept form since 2022 but should finally reach the market next year. Canoo says that the tiny truck will have up to 500 hp and at least 200 miles of range, with both six- and eight-foot bed configurations available.
Chevrolet Silverado EV
Release Date: 2023
Buyers in the market for a full-size electric pickup that isn’t a Ford or Rivian won’t have to wait much longer for the Silverado EV to arrive. Chevy’s first electric truck will borrow powertrain bits from the GMC Hummer EV, with the base Work Truck having 510 hp and 400 miles of range, while the top-end RST should pack a hearty 754 hp.
GMC Sierra EV
Release Date: 2024
The Sierra EV will follow the Silverado to market next year, packing most of the same powertrain options and equipment. The Sierra will have 400 miles of range and up to 754 hp in top-spec, with the Denali Edition 1 starting at $100,000. More affordable examples will debut later in 2024 and into 2025.
Ram 1500 Rev
Release Date: 2024
Ram will finally make the move to battery power with the arrival of the 1500 Rev in production form later this year. The 1500 Rev will use the Stellantis STLA architecture designed specifically for body-on-frame EVs and offer two motors with a total output of 654 hp and up to 500 miles of range.
Scout Electric Pickup
Release Date: 2025
Scout will build its electric off-road pickup alongside the Scout SUV beginning in 2025. Of course, it should have all the same rugged cues and capabilities of the SUV but with more usability thanks to the added bed, naturally.
Tesla Cybertruck
Release Date: 2024
The Tesla Cybertruck is slowly inching to production after years of teasing concepts and prototypes. Spy photos and videos have shown more production-ready versions of the Cybertruck on the road, while Tesla has ramped up production at its facility in Texas to help accommodate Cybertruck production. There’s a chance we see it this year in production form, but more than likely, the Cybertruck will arrive early in 2024.
