EasyCare’s coverage is rather extensive and versatile, which gives it a high rating from us. EasyCare only offers four warranty coverage tiers while other top companies like CarShield and Endurance offer five to six, but the company also provides warranties for RVs. It also offers add-on coverage plans, and is available in all 50 states.

We haven’t been able to collect much information on cost, but based on the positive reviews and records of happy customers, and the coverage quality that EasyCare displays, we’ve given the company a high cost rating.

Transparency: 3.3 Stars

EasyCare’s website is well organized and easy to navigate. It includes informative pages for each of its services, especially its general contracts for private vehicles. EasyCare delivers information through video, pictures, text, and car repair prices, giving customers a good idea of what they’re getting with an EasyCare contract. 

The warranty company also displays a table detailing the specific parts that each of its four main vehicle service contracts offer. However, EasyCare doesn’t display any mileage or term limits with its warranties or showcase any downloadable sample contracts.

EasyCare doesn’t have a high customer satisfaction rating on the BBB site, but this is relatively common in the warranty industry. For all the complaints on the BBB site, EasyCare responds to all of them, helping customers to settle old issues with the company.

Is An EasyCare Warranty Worth It?

It could be worth it to get an extended warranty for a car with 100,000 miles or more on it. It may also be good if you own a car that’s more than 10 years old. That’s because cars with these mileages and ages are more likely to suffer mechanical breakdowns and need repairs. 

But sometimes it helps to know if other people are happy with their own extended warranties. In March 2022, over a thousand car owners that bought extended service plans filled out our warranty survey. Of the 1,000 respondents:

• 27 percent experienced a mechanical breakdown once a year, while 23 percent had a mechanical failure every two years.
• 33 percent got their extended warranty when their car had 50,000 miles to 100,000 miles on the odometer.
• About 12 percent got their extended coverage after their manufacturer coverage expired.
• Only 24 percent got their extended warranty from a third-party warranty provider like EasyCare. Over half got their extended warranty from their manufacturer.

How Much Do Auto Repairs Cost?

The average cost of auto repairs is $652 per year across the 32 top car manufacturers, though you could end up paying much more out of pocket depending on the vehicle component that needs to be fixed or replaced.

While EasyCare has many positive reviews, like all warranty companies, it has negative opinions as well. Some customers complain about the length of service time while others claim that EasyCare didn’t cover repairs that the company was supposed to:

Although EasyCare doesn’t list term durations on its website, the company site does mention that terms are negotiable, along with deductibles and payment plans. This provides vehicle owners with great flexibility. 

EasyCare doesn’t state on its website what ages of vehicles it will cover, but you’ll need your car’s age information on hand to get a quote. EasyCare also doesn’t clearly state if maintenance records are required to approve coverage.

EasyCare provides the same benefits that most warranty companies pair with their extended warranties. However, EasyCare also offers a great tire-and-wheel coverage plan. Here’s a list of benefits you can get with EasyCare:

• Roadside assistance: This 24-hour service includes items like gas deliveries, jump-starts, lockout assistance, and tire changes.
• Towing reimbursement: Sometimes, you can’t make it to the repair shop before your vehicle fails. An EasyCare warranty includes up to $100 per tow.
• Trip interruption coverage: When traveling, you won’t have to worry about accruing extra expenses if you end up stranded with a mechanical breakdown. All plans include trip interruption coverage for up to $300 if you’re more than 50 miles from home.
• Rental car reimbursement: When your vehicle is in the repair shop for authorized repairs, your EasyCare warranty will keep you on the road with reimbursement for car rentals. All contracts come with $30-per-day coverage, or you can pay to upgrade your plan to $50-per-day coverage.
• Tire-and-wheel road hazard coverage: With some restrictions, EasyCare will repair or replace tires and wheels that sustain damage from a road hazard.

What Does The EasyCare Warranty Not Cover?

Like most extended warranty companies, EasyCare doesn’t cover:

• Routine maintenance services, like oil changes
• Aftermarket alterations
• Damages from car collisions or fallen objects

EasyCare Cancellations And Transfers

EasyCare allows you to cancel your extended warranty at any time. You can cancel by contacting either the provider or the dealership where you purchased your EasyCare warranty. It may take up to five business days for EasyCare to process your cancellation request.

You may also transfer your warranty, if needed, as long as the following criteria are met:

• The service contract is going to another owner, not another car.
• The car passes an inspection.
• The transfer takes place within 30 days of ownership transfer.
• The car doesn’t have a lease.
• All underlying warranties are transferred as well.
